Notorious Hunters Arrested With Baboon, Monkeys, Porcupine, Other Animals in Bauchi (Photos)

Two hunters who are notorious in poaching animals in reserves have been arrested around with baboon, patas monkeys, porcupine, warthogs, and other animals by security operatives.

The poachers

Some local security operatives have apprehended two two hunters identified as Amos Bitrus and Danjuma Sale, around Tungan-Baki area of Bauchi state on June 30th, 2017.

It was gathered that the poachers were caught with 1 baboon, 3 patas monkeys, 1 porcupine, 2 warthogs, and 1 guinea fowl. The hunters also had seven hunting dogs with them that attempted to attack the rangers.

According to reports, Danjuma had been previously arrested in Yankari game reserve, so he was sentenced to two years in jail. As a first-time offender Amos was sentenced to six months.
